The P100 Cortina was announced in July 1982 just before the end of the private car range came to an end.

The P100 was to be a pick up truck, and a similar version was already in production in South Africa.

The front on the P100 is for all intents and purposes a MkV saloon, but changes had to be made from the saloon version.  A bench seat was fitted in the cab and the petrol tank was moved from the rear to behind the cab .  To make the vehicle more ‘rugged’ the rear suspension was changed to the old fashioned half - elliptic spring.

It used the standard MkV pinto engine, but the gearbox was fitted with wider ratios.

The P100 was available for many years in the 1980’s and some fine examples can still be seen today.
