15th AUGUST, KNOWSLEY HALL

A lovely sunny Sunday brought us to Knowsley Hall, which is all part of the Knowsley Estate which includes the Safari Park. The grass was long enough to accommodate a few wild animals, but we managed to find a suitable spot to park up and put up our gazebo. The Estate is owned by Lord Derby, and the Hall, which is not normally open to the public, was available for us to have a guided tour, nice to see how the other half live.
We had 8 Cortina’s on the stand today, Stevo took his Mk 3 into the arena for the 70’s section and won 1st place for best car.

21st/22nd AUG TATTON PARK

A big weekend at Tatton Park in Macclesfield, Cheshire. This show is a must for us and normally we visit twice a year, but unfortunately, this year the June show coincided with our AGM at Symonds. As always it was a packed event with more club stands than ever, so much so that the organizers were asking clubs who had any spare room on their stand to let other cars park up with them.
As always at Tatton there is a variety of stands with auto jumble, tools etc but there is lots for the rest of the family so that everyone is catered for.
This year the organizers were very strict and insisted that no exhibitors left the show ground before 4pm, so it was as well the weather was good and warm.
Judging took place and the honours went to:
1st Stevo Schofield MK3 Saloon
2nd John Dickinson MK5 Saloon
3rd Paul Mellor MK3 Saloon
